The International Student Admissions Test (ISAT) has been produced by ACER to give an indication of the cognitive abilities of international candidates applying to Australian universities.

ISAT is a three-hour multiple-choice test. It is not a test of subject-specific knowledge. ISAT aims to assess candidates' Critical and Quantitative Reasoning skills. For information on the test format, results and sample questions, click here.

Each university will differ in its use of ISAT as a requirement for entry and the weights given to the scores. Candidates must also satisfy other university entrance requirements such as IELTS.

Currently, ISAT is a mandatory requirement for enrolment in the following courses only:

  1. University of Western Australia (Medicine)
  2. University of Western Australia (Dentistry)
  3. Monash University, Australia (Medicine)
  4. Monash University, Malaysia (Medicine)
  5. Griffith University (Dentistry)
  6. University of Queensland (Medicine)
  7. University of Queensland (Dentistry)
  8. University of Sydney (Veterinary Science)
  9. University of Tasmania (Medicine)
