IELTS, the International English Language Testing System, is designed to assess the language ability of candidates who need to study or work where English is the language of communication.

IELTS is the world’s proven English test. Over 1.7 million candidates take the test each year to start their journeys into international education and employment. IELTS is recognised by more than 7,000 institutions in over 135 countries. You can rely on IELTS - the test that sets the standard.

IELTS is recognised by universities and employers in many countries, including Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the UK and the USA. It is also recognised by professional bodies, immigration authorities and other government agencies.

IDP Education is a co-owner of IELTS and IDP Education Hong Kong is  one of the official test centres of IELTS.

IELTS is jointly owned by British Council, IDP: IELTS Australia and University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations. Our IELTS test centre in Hong Kong is aligned with the IDP: IELTS Australia network of test centres worldwide. We organise IELTS test 2 to 4 times a month for Hong Kong candidates.

 

What does the IELTS test consist of?

Academic Module
For entry into or exit from university courses, or entry into senior government, commercial, or professional bodies

General Training Module
For entry into non-academic training, some certificate / diploma courses, migration and other government and commercial positions
