The International Student Admissions Test
(ISAT) has been produced by ACER to give an
indication of the cognitive abilities of international candidates
applying to Australian universities.
ISAT is a three-hour multiple-choice test. It
is not a test of subject-specific knowledge. ISAT aims to assess
candidates' Critical and Quantitative Reasoning skills. For

Each university will differ in its use of ISAT
as a requirement for entry and the weights given to the scores.
Candidates must also satisfy other university entrance requirements
such as IELTS.
Currently, ISAT is a mandatory requirement
for enrolment in the following courses only:
- University of Western Australia (Medicine)
- University of Western Australia (Dentistry)
- Monash University, Australia (Medicine)
- Monash University, Malaysia (Medicine)
- Griffith University (Dentistry)
- University of Queensland (Medicine)
- University of Queensland (Dentistry)
- University of Sydney (Veterinary Science)
- University of Tasmania (Medicine)
- University of Western Sydney (Medicine)
IDP Education Pty Ltd has many years of
international experience in the administration of IELTS, NAATI and
other educational tests. This ensures that ISAT is efficiently
administered in secure environments. IDP Education Pty Ltd conducts
the test in most offices in the IDP network, but not in
Australia.
All applications for the test are to be made
directly to ACER. It is not possible to register for the test at an
IDP Office.
